About This Policy

BG Card Database (hsbgcards.studentapp.space) is a community-driven fan project. This policy describes what information we collect when you visit the site or use our companion apps (the Telegram bot and Twitch Extension), how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell data and we do not track you across other websites. As of the date at the top of this page, we also do not run any advertising — this may change in the future, and if it ever does, this policy will be updated in advance to describe what any ad partners collect and how.

Information We Collect

We use a privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics tool called Umami to understand how the site is used. Umami does not use cookies, does not store any personally identifiable information, and does not track you across other sites. The data it collects is aggregated and anonymous.

Specifically, Umami records:

• Anonymous page views (which pages are visited and when).
• Referrer information (the previous page or source that brought you here, including UTM campaign tags when present).
• Approximate country and device category (phone, tablet, or desktop), derived at the edge and not stored alongside any identifier.
• Anonymous interaction events — for example, opening a card, clicking through patch notes, or completing the interactive tour. These are used to understand which features people actually use.

If you contact us via the links at the bottom of this page (Telegram or WhatsApp), the respective platform will handle that conversation under its own privacy policy. We only see the messages you choose to send us.

What We Do Not Collect

• No accounts, no logins, no passwords — this site does not have a user system.
• No names, emails, or other personal data (unless you voluntarily send them to us).
• No cookies.
• No behavioural tracking for marketing purposes. No advertising is currently served on the site (see the intro above regarding future changes).
• Our Twitch Extension does not transmit any analytics. It only fetches public card data from this site's API.

Third-Party Services

The site loads a few resources from third-party providers:

• Google Fonts — serves the Inter and Roboto Serif typefaces. Google may log font requests per its own privacy policy.
• Telegram / WhatsApp — only if you tap the contact buttons below.
• Blizzard Entertainment — card artwork and game data belong to Blizzard. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Blizzard.

Your Rights & Choices

Because we do not tie any data to your identity, there is nothing personal to request, export, or delete — the analytics data we hold is aggregated and anonymous.

If you'd still prefer not to contribute to our anonymous analytics, any standard ad blocker or privacy extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Brave shields, etc.) will block our analytics script. The site will continue to work normally with analytics blocked.

For what it's worth: the person running this site is an ad-blocker user themselves and browses this very site with an ad blocker enabled. We build for people who value their privacy because we're one of them.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. If we make any meaningful change to what we collect or how we use it, we will post a notice on the site in advance so you have a chance to review it before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
